Similarity - Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism Policy

IJMT is firmly committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. It is the sole responsibility of the author(s) to ensure that every submission represents entirely original work. Where the work, ideas, or words of others have been drawn upon, due credit must be given through proper and complete citation.

Plagiarism in any form — including verbatim copying, uncredited paraphrasing, idea appropriation, or self-plagiarism — constitutes unethical publishing conduct and is strictly unacceptable at IJMT.

Screening Process

All manuscripts submitted to IJMT are routinely screened by the editorial team using Turnitin prior to peer review. Any material quoted verbatim — whether from the author(s)' own previously published work or from external sources — must be placed in quotation marks and accompanied by a proper citation.

Similarity Index Thresholds

IJMT applies the following similarity thresholds as binding submission requirements:

  • The overall similarity index must not exceed 10%.
  • The similarity index from any single source must not exceed 3%.
  • Author(s) are required to declare compliance with these thresholds in the Author Agreement Form at the time of submission.

Non-Compliance

Manuscripts found to exceed the 10% overall similarity threshold will either be rejected outright or referred to the editorial committee for a conditional acceptance determination, at the committee's discretion. Where appropriate, author(s) may be given a single opportunity to revise and resubmit the manuscript in accordance with IJMT's plagiarism requirements
